MY STORY
A wife, mother, grandmother, child care worker, home baker and a local girl at heart. I was born and raised in the Sea Lake / Berriwillock area before moving to Swan Hill where I married my husband Mick and had 2 beautiful children, Kris and Caity, now fully grown adults.
I first discovered my love for baking, in particular cakes, whilst creating for my children’s birthdays. I not only enjoyed this practice, but loved to learn new skills every chance I could. I then found friends would ask me to provide cakes for their functions and I absolutely adored doing it.
Eventually, I realised to get the best results I required training and the purchase of higher level equipment as well as many new and wonderful moulds, tools and tins. I started completing training online and in person and purchased what I could to support my hobby. Much to my delight friends were offering to pay for the resulting projects. This then lead to customising items to suit.
As time progressed I realised there was a real need for genuinely homemade, fresh, bespoke cakes at affordable family prices. “Edible Art – Cakes by Med” was then formed.
